Pressure gauge for tensiometers
with integrated measurement converter (analog sensor) and programmable
switching module for measuring suction tension and controlling
irrigation, similar to an irrigation computer.

Use:
|
Electrical switching
sensor for connection to nonanalog automatic watering systems as
starter or for independent automation of watering systems either
as single unit (1 irrigation circuit) or as a series of sensors
for use with multiple circuits with output to a solenoid valve
or relay pump to each individual unit.
Additionally, each
SensorMat produces an analog measurement signal for visual
readout or external recording of the substrate moisture level
(also see E-sensor). The sensor and switching parameters are
programmable via PC and are saved in each SensorMat unit
respectively; this enables operation of the SensorMat system
without a PC. Online use with recording and saving of moisture
levels is possible with every office PC.

Technical Description
Housing: Cylindrical PVC and
acrylic glass casing, ?26 mm, height 80 mm, with protective gray
covering (Shrink Wrap), weight ca. 35 g. Pressurized connections: screw
cap with exchangeable o-ring-washer (7 x 2.5 mm) for direct connection
to the tensiometer, neck piece threading GL 14.
Pressure gauge: piezosensitive
pressure gauge with differential pressure measurement, typical accuracy
(expressed as % of the measurement range): linearity + hysteresis: ?0.2,
temperature sensitivity (0-50?in reference to 25蚓):

Power supply:.12 ?6 V DC
(preferably 12 (13) V), external power supply; maximum load dependent
upon system configuration. Switching output: 13 ?26 V DC,
depending on the source, elec. current: max. 1 A, continuous current:
0.7 A, safe against short circuits and overload. Manual start und stop
via outer contact. Alarm output: 13 ?26 V DC, max. 1 A (ohmic load), as
contiuous signal, single output alarm from connecting box or buzzer;
direct LED alarm on connecting box. Measurement output: measurement
signal: 0.96 ?4.8 V DC corresponding to the range 0 ?591 hPa, or
alternatively 0 - 394 hPa.
Switching lock feature: shuts off
output of the SensorMat during irrigation (any grouping desired),
voltage: 5 V DC, with electronic extra which is useful for external
control (central pump, shut off times).
Electrical connection: shielded,
highly flexible cable directly connected to sensor, 8 stranded, ?4.7 mm,
0.1 mm? cable output port located on housing, nonkinking; cable length:
4.8 m, protection type: IP 54, safe against false connection.
Serial switching connection: via
connection box (serial connection box) max. 31 SensorMatics in a series,
with clamp connection, connection for power, locking feature, alarm or
digital use via 6 stranded cable, max. cable length for digital use: 75
m, PC-Interface: RS 232 (for greater distances: RS 485).

Windows 95/98 + Windows NT, optional Windows CE.
Program settings: switches on
according to hPa values (in steps of 2-3 hPa), switches off according to
either hPa or min. (predetermined or variable), multiple switching,
interval watering, switching lock, monitoring of moisture levels/
tensiometer functions/ dryness, sensor adjustment, manual switching
operation, record keeping and display (online).
