KV1
|
Best suited for small to
middle size pots, not more than 150 hPa (minimal water reserve).
|
|
KV2
|
Universal usage, also for
somewhat drier ranges (up to 200 hPa).
|
|
LV
|
Preferred for use with
shallowly rooting bed cultivation or larger size containers,
also suited for minimal insertion depths and drier ranges.
|
|
KVT2
LVT
|
With integrated T-piece,
manometer and M-sensor can be attached simultaneously;
therefore, providing additional means for observing moisture
level developments and for controlling of the tensiostats.
Important to be certain by Model KVT2 when used together with
the Manometer 400 that small pots have a solid base (i.e. can
not tip over).
Extra cap included in delivery with T-models.

Insertion
Tensiometer
for soil moisture measurement
Used primarily for moisture
measurement in soil layers of varying depths, often in conjunction with
electronic sensors as well as manometers (also see Puncture Tensiometer),
also suitable as tensiostat for soil cultures.
?Suggested insertion depth should be followed, choose fitting length!
?/i> The given depth is the approximate maximum value (middle
marking), it should be complied with as closely as possible in order to
minimize thermal influences (direct sun light) but to still be able to
observe the stand of the water column.
|
Suited for use with
following irrigation systems:
|
As tensiostat, used
mainly for drip irrigation, for measuring purposes, no
restrictions
|
|
Accessories required:
|
E-sensor 1000 or
Manometer 400 / 1000, possibly M-sensor 100 (50).
|
Technical

individual tensiometer);
alternatively available as white, kaolin chamber K100, cylindrical,
rounded bottom, especially stable, with consistent characteristics,
minimal absorption capability (material: inert Mullit).

Example for graduated
lengths for 3 measurement horizon (measurement depths of ca. 20
?50 ?70 cm) in order to investigate a horizontal moisture
profile for a particular site; for vertical installation in ca.
10-15 cm intervals, also possible to install at an angle. These
kind of moisture profiles allow for an analysis of the
penetration depth of the irrigation measures taken over the
course of the season (possible leaching); also see TensioSave.

Special Features

Mini PV
|
Used for controlling
irrigation or for moisture measurement in conjunction with
E-sensors in small containers, such as pot trays, plug trays or
compost cell packs, for instance, in cultivation of young plants
(usually with ebb and flow irrigation or similar systems);
important that apparatus is standing stably.
|
|
Jib
P
|
Usage as with Model Mini
PV, also suitable for the smallest of containers. The
tensiometer tube is placed beside the container and only the
thin, jib-capillary tubing leads into the area with plants. The
water turnover of the measurement site is thereby little
affected. The small kaolin rod has a somewhat slower
reabsorption reaction due to the smaller porous surface area,
however, this is of significance only for irrigation control
with direct switching. Kaolin rod and capillary tubing are
filled via absorption of water through the tensio-chamber
(suction flask included in delivery).
|
|
Capillary tubing PV
|
Used for irrigation
control or moisture measurement with E-sensors in substrate
balls such as compost cell packs, rock wool blocks or other
similar methods for cultivating young plants, also in vegetable
production. Typical set up: the long, kaolin rod is
pushed shallowly into a gap between substrate blocks (can also
be placed directly in or under a substrate ball). The capillary
tubing with connecting supports is set along side. Two capillary
tubing tensiometers can be coupled over the T-piece and an
adapter (faster reaction and higher accuracy in measuring).
Kaolin rod and capillary tubing are filled via absorption of
water through the tensio-chamber (suction flask included in
delivery).
|
|
BIG
|
Large volume tensiometer
for moisture measurements in extensive cultures with periodic
dry phases, can withstand long periods of inactivity when no
irrigation is taking place due to of its large water capacity.
The reaction time of the tensiometer decreases somewhat with
higher suction tensions and larger air volumes (this is balanced
out by the large reactive surface of the ceramic chamber.
