Gel-Pro Analyzer combines point-and-click simplicity with the ability to integrate text, data, and graphics. Designed for molecular biologists, medical researchers, and other laboratory professionals involved in gel analysis and interpretation, Gel-Pro Analyzer automates gel reading to improve through-put, minimize ambiguity, standardize laboratory procedures, and increase reproducibility. Gel-Pro Analyzer groups its functions according to actual laboratory procedures making it intuitive and easy to learn. Using familiar scientific terminology, Gel-Pro Analyzer supports quantitative PCR; Northern, Southern, and Western blot analyses; differential display PCR; and Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) technology.

Customization is easy for non-programmers and programmers alike with "Auto Pro". These powerful built-in functions allow you to automate routine procedures, record sessions, and play them back. Advanced users can integrate and customize macros with Visual Basic to build applications to meet specific imaging needs.
Automated Gel-Reading Functions Give you Faster Results, Fewer Errors, and Greater Consistency
Gel-Pro Analyzer lets you obtain data from a digitized image, either automatically - according to a pre-defined protocol, or manually - step by step. Output is provided in terms of molecular weight, mass and relative abundance of DNA, RNA, and proteins. You can also analyze increases or decreases between samples. Gel-Pro's algorithms handle smearing, slants, "smiles", and background variations with precision. So whether you read the gel today, tomorrow, or next year, the results will be accurate and reproducible.

In addition to providing its own data table, Gel-Pro allows you to easily export data to a simple-text format or directly into Microsoft Excel. Images can be printed on either a thermal printer or a standard laser printer.
Built-in Database Makes it Easy to Archive and Retrieve Experiments
A wide range of experiment management functions lets you quickly and easily store and retrieve information about your experiments. Search by title, experimenter's name, date, function type, or associated image. Access information on molecular weight/mass calculations, correction/band/lane data, procedural steps, and comments or lab notes. As your experiments progress, your library of image files will grow rapidly. For quick image searching and retrieval, use Gel-Pro Analyzer's GALLERY. It displays labeled thumbnail representations simultaneously, regardless of image format or location. Just point and click on one or more images to select, copy, move, rename, or delete image files in the Gallery.
