The CFW-1310M is a monochrome IEEE-1394 digital camera suitable for a wide array of both low-light and bright-field scientific imaging applications. The IEEE-1394 interface, also known as FireWire, allows for extremely easy interfacing to both desktop and notebook computers.

The CFW-1310M has a large 1360 x 1024 pixel resolution with a dynamic range of 10 bits. Images may be saved in either 8 or 10 bits. The frame rate of a full size image is a maximum of 7.5 frames per second. A preview mode is available which can provide frame rates of 30 frames per second. Analog gain control with amplification of low-level signals up to 100 times is provided. Also provided is exposure control with exposures from 10 ms to 100 s supported.

Typical applications for which the CFW-1310M is well suited are both bright-field and low-light video microscopy and EtBr gel documentation systems. The CFW-1310M comes with several software support options. VisiCapture is a full-featured application for controlling the camera and capturing and saving images. Also provided is a TWAIN module for using the camera inside of popular applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Ima/J. Software for the CFW-1310M is compatible with Windows XP and 2000, and Mac OS X.

The CFW-1310M comes with a 6 pin IEEE-1394 cable with a 4 pin adapter available on request for use with notebook computers.

Effective frame rate is computer dependent. For best results on Windows, a Pentium IV or better computer with at least 256 Mb of RAM is recommended. For best results in Mac OS X, an Apple Macintosh G4 or better computer running with at least 256 Mb of RAM is recommended.

The CFW-1310C is a high-resolution single chip color digital camera well suited to a variety of bright-field and low- light scientific imaging applications. The CCD sensor of the CFW-1310C employs the widely used Bayer color filter arrangement. The camera interfaces with both desktop and notebook computers through the convenient IEEE-1394 or FireWire interface.

The CFW-1310C has a large 1360 x 1024 pixel resolution with a dynamic range of 10 bits. Images may be saved in either 24 or 30 bit formats. The frame rate of a full size image is a maximum of 7.5 frames per second. A preview mode is available which can provide frame rates of 30 frames per second. Analog gain control with amplification of low-level signals up to 100 times is provided. The CFW-1310C additionally provides individual red, green, and blue gain controls with a range of 0 to 6 dB. Also provided is exposure control with exposures from 10 ms to 100 s supported.
